Xiaomi Smart Band 9 in for review

This is Xiaomi\'s Smart Band 9 and it\'s now on sale in Europe for €40/£35. It ships in a small box with a proprietary magnetic pin charger ending on a USB-A port.

The smart band\'s easily detachable body lends itself nicely to accessories - we received the dual-tone leather strap (normally £18) and the running clip (£8), which lets you attach the band to your sneakers.

Because of a differences in dimensions, the running clip 9 is only compatible with the Smart Band 9.

So what\'s new on the Xiaomi Smart Band 9 compared to the 8? It\'s ever so slightly smaller, though you\'re unlikely to notice a difference. Health tracking accuracy has improved - Xiaomi claims 16% better heart rate and blood oxygen saturation tracking. There\'s also a reported 7.9% improvement in sleep tracking accuracy.

The new band brings a bigger 230mAh battery over the 190mAh of its predecessor.

Sadly, there\'s no GPS on the Xiaomi Smart Band 9 and you\'d need to wait for the Smart Band 9 Pro to arrive with a bigger display and GPS, or go for the Smart Band 8 Pro.
