Huawei Watch GT 5 Pro in for review

Huawei Watch GT 5 Pro is arguably the most interesting wearable by the Chinese maker this year and we finally get to put it through its paces.

It’s quite large and sits imposingly on the wrist – the 46 mm Titanium Body of the Classic Edition is matched with Titanium strap with a butterfly clasp.

The Watch GT series is Huawei’s middle ground of wearables — it is designed to match the Watch number series in looks but with a lower price tag and better battery life at the expense of cellular connectivity.

It is built around a 1.43″ AMOLED display that has been a staple since the GT 3 series. It offers some new watch faces, and the bezel is now dual-painted in Blue and Red. It is quite reminiscent of the Green version of the GT 4, but in new colors.

The major improvement brought by the GT 5 Pro are the new sensors on the back, coupled with a smarter tracker algorithm. The company calls it TruSense System, and the tech combines data from sensors for respiratory rate, SpO2 (blood oxygen levels), body temperature, and heart rate and provides more accurate and comprehensive tips on your well-being.

The Running and Cycling-related activities are also improved, as owners can now upload tracks over a map (instead of a single line going left or right into nothingness). There is also a feature that can create running paths, and we’ll do our best to explore these new features.

Sadly, the Huawei Watch GT 5 series does not support mental health-related features in Europe, and we won’t be able to test those. However, we will examine all its other aspects in detail, so stay tuned for our findings.
